~ A True English Sparkle ~

Forget tea and ale. Make this the official drink of Great Britain please!
Now, I don’t usually drink wines from my home country of England, but when I do – it’s got to be Nyetimber. Made from the Holy Trinity of sparkling wine grape varieties – Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this wine is of the highest quality.
I went to a sparkling wine tasting event at the North London Wine School as part of their Christmas season and it was my first time trying Nyetimber. In fact, it was probably my first time tasting any English sparkling wine. I’m not a wine snob, but I know there are some people out there who can be. Sniffing the glass tentatively before wrinkling their nose and muttering, “Bring me a fine French or Italian. None of this English piss!”
If you’re one of those people (own up!) then you’re missing out. English piss wine is actually very delicious. The wine we tried was a Nyetimber classic, marked with a light blue ribbon label, wrapped around the bottle neck. It had a sharp taste and the bubbles did not disappoint!
So if you’re raising a glass to the roaring twenties this year, do it English style!
Nyetimber is one of my favourite sparkling wines. I’m glad that you are a convert, too! For me, it comfortably holds its own against many of the champagnes and other sparking wines currently available in restaurants and from shops. It’s a joy to drink.

You like Nyetimber too? That’s great! Yes, I’ve just been introduced to it and I’m going to tell everyone I know about it! I feel like it deserves as much attention as champagne and the others.
